Week begins on Tuesday Feb 14 with Ch 3 the Church of the 5-chapter Book Project due today.
Teleparent calls on Monday evening (sorry) were in reference to the Project.
Project directions, a rubric for scoring the Project, Typing Directions, and a Table of Contents form is attached here.
TUES: Teacher checks Ch3 The Church for completion. Teacher will try to call parents right then to reinforce to students how important meeting deadlines and due dates is. Also, they have known for 2 weeks. In class, students will be working on Ch 4 Medieval Society. This chapter is due on Friday Feb 17.
HW: Really, students should be putting finishing touches on this chapter. Students have been told repeatedly that this is on-going HW, meaning around 15 - 20 minutes each evening to stay on pace. Students are asked to download and print in color 2 examples each of Romanesque and Gothic cathedral architecture. Computers are available in the Media Center for just these types of assignments. Students are aware of this service so there shouldn't be a problem with printers and Internet access.
WED: Teacher will cover The Crusades and demonstrate how to create a Table of Contents using a form already given kids and posted here.
HW: finishing touches on Ch 4
THUR: quiz on Ch's 1 (Feudalism), Ch 2 (Groups of People), Ch 3 (The Church); grade quiz; assist with Table of Contents organization, coloring what ever is left; all depends on how much time is left after taking and grading quiz
HW: Ch 4 Medieval Society is due tomorrow, completed and ready to go. Should be nearing completion on Chapter 5 How the Middle AGes Ended,
FRI: Teacher checks Ch 4. Kids scramble to work on Ch 5 which is due on Tuesday February 21, an extension of the deadline by 4 days. Kids on pace are not worried. Many are and won't realize it until Friday and will need to complete over the 3-day weekend.
Teacher has warned students about not staying on pace to finish by Friday February 17. There are several kids who have been finished with entire project for a week now, and some kids who have barely begun due to wasting time in class, and especially, not doing work each night at home.
Please do not blame Teacher for assgining things over a weekend. Kids knew what to do in order to avoid this situation.
HW Weekend: finish Project by Tuesday February 21. Late ones will get a call home and lose a grade level.
Please Please Please help your student by urging completion of this fundamental project.
