Welcome to Ms. Patrice Melendez's Daily Living Skills class. This year we will be discussing many important daily living skill topics that include but are not limited to healthy eating habits, best hygiene practices, social skills, learning personal information, sending and writing letters, accessing the internet to locate information, etc.
We will also incorporate frequent community based instruction trips around the community such as visiting the local grocery store and the city library. Having the ability to practice community based instruction allows students to practice being safe while in the community. Our trips will include the practicing of looking both ways, focusing on people and things around us (especially cars), crossing the street in a safe manner, and personal space around strangers.
