Mission

Brookhurst Junior High School Students will be supportive, responsible, productive, caring and compassionate citizens. They will demonstrate College and Career readiness as well as 21st Century Skills when they assume their roles as lifelong learners in their community.

Vision

Through our Brookhurst JHS comprehensive counseling program, we will prepare all students with the 21st Century skills necessary to persevere and succeed in a changing world. We will create a positive, connected community of caring students who are actively engaged in learning about themselves, their community, and the world.

Ms. Pineda has a master's in school social work and holds credentials in school counseling and school child welfare and attendance. She is the current Lead and 7th-grade counselor at Brookhurst. For the 2023/2024 school year, she will be the 7th-grade counselor. This is her 5th year as a Junior High School Counselor but has been a counselor at AUHSD since 2001. From 2001-2003 she worked with the district and the city of Anaheim in their Workforce Investment Act for Youth Program. Then from 2004-2018, She worked as a High School Counselor at Katella HS.

Mrs. Roberts has a Masters in Education - School Counseling from Chapman University and holds credentials in Pupil Personnel Services and Child Welfare and Attendance. She is our 8th Grade Counselor and EL Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year. This is Mrs. Roberts 28th year as a junior high counselor in the Anaheim Union High School District. Previously, she was a counselor at Orangeview Junior High School from 1996 - 2023.
