Substitute Information

Requirements

  • Valid CA Teacher Credential or Emergency 30-day Substitute Permit

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University

  • Verification of a passing score on the CBEST examination

  • Driver's License or state issued identification

  • Social Security Card

  • Current TB Test Clearance

  • Fingerprint Clearance (Clearing House) with OCDE

  • Original Transcripts verifying a Bachelors Degree

  • On-line application (only) submitted through Ed-join.org

 

Salary

Substitute teachers are paid at the rate of $125.00 per day. Long-term assignments beginning on the eleventh consecutive day in the same classroom are paid at the rate of $140.00 per day, retroactive to the first day of that assignment.

  • Submit On-line application through Ed-join.org

  • Applications are reviewed through the district and screened for required documentation

    • NOTE: ONLY APPLICATIONS COMPLETE WITH REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ATTACHED, WILL BE CONSIDERED

  • Qualifying applicants will be contacted for an interview 

  • Selected candidates are given a “new hire packet” and asked to schedule a processing appointment when the packet has been completed. Noted documents must be presented at the time of your appointment. 

  • Mandatory attendance at the assigned Substitute Orientation/Training session
